Ellicottville · New York
Mountain character
Holiday Valley belongs to a different New York travel region from the Catskills and Adirondacks. Its school offers children's packages with specific inclusions, while Buffalo is a documented regional gateway.
Shuttle option documented
The operator names Buffalo-area limousine and airport-shuttle providers. Confirm the exact route, reservation and endpoint directly; these are arranged transfers rather than a guaranteed public route.
Last mile
Check whether the lodging is at the ski base or in Ellicottville. The airport provider's drop-off does not establish daily transport to every lesson location.
Instruction documented: Holiday Valley children's and adult instruction
The official school describes instruction by age and experience, including children's packages with rentals and lift access. Confirm the selected product rather than applying those inclusions to every lesson.
Planning trade-off
Holiday Valley is useful for a western New York itinerary. Hunter and Gore are alternative regional trips, not nearby bases that share the same daily transport.

Mountain character
Hunter's official site distinguishes first-timer learning terrain from steeper runs and terrain parks. Its regional identity as a New York mountain outing should not obscure the precise lesson check-in and equipment plan.
Shuttle option documented
The operator documents weekend parking shuttles. These are local mountain services, not a direct New York City or airport connection; arrange the regional trip separately.
Last mile
Choose the correct learning-center meeting point before using a parking or drop-off location. A nearby Catskills rental may still require a separate road transfer.
Instruction documented: Hunter Learning Center
The official site identifies the learning center and first-time programs. Confirm the actual lesson product and meeting point rather than using a generic all-mountain ticket as a learning plan.
Planning trade-off
Hunter is a different regional choice from an Adirondack holiday. Compare the full Catskills journey with Gore or Whiteface when selecting the destination region.
